For Assist to work as intended, you need to give the browser access to your location. This is required in order to:
Share your position with colleagues
Add GPS data to photos you take directly in the app
Note: Your position is only shown on the map when you:
Have selected a vehicle
Are set to On duty
Are active in a service
The first time you open Assist
The first time you open Assist in Safari, you will be asked for access to your location.
Here you need to choose "Allow".
If you tap "Don't Allow" by mistake, you can grant access manually by following the steps below.
How to give Assist access to your location manually
If you have added Assist as an app on your Home screen, you still need to open it in Safari to change these settings.
Step by step:
Step 1: Open Assist in Safari
Open Assist in Safari (go.getassist.app), then tap the icon on the left of the address bar
Step 2: Tap the three dots
Tap the three dots at the bottom right of the view.
Step 3: Go to "Location"
Scroll right down and tap "Location"
Step 4: Allow location access
Change the setting to Allow to permit location sharing
Once this is done, Assist will be able to pick up your position and add GPS information to photos taken in the app.
