What is a service?
A service is a “task” that is carried out within a job. Each service can be assigned to a driver and has its own job site. In Assist it is the service itself that is assigned to a driver, not the job as a whole.

Because you can have several services in one job, Assist makes the following easy:
Tow a vehicle in with one driver, put the vehicle into storage, then move it on with a different driver.
Have several drivers on the same job.
Examples of services within a job
Here are some examples of when it is useful to add several services to a job.
Simple job:
Most jobs will only contain a single service.

In Assist it will look like this:
Job with towing, storage and towing
Typical when you first tow a vehicle into storage and later transport it on to be scrapped.

Typical when several drivers are needed on one job, for example when someone has to close off the road while another driver recovers the vehicle itself.

How to add more services
To add more services to a job, click New Service in the panel Services , like this:
Each service can have its own driver and its own job site.
Active services
The Active services table shows which services are active — in other words, those not yet Signed off by the driver assigned to the service. This screen is built so you can follow the status of every driver carrying out their assigned service.
How to read the service number
Service numbers in Assist are shown like this:Job number.Service number
Here you can see how two services from the same job appear:
So this means:
Service 2.3 is Job 2, service number 3 within that job
Service 2.1 is Job 2, service number 1 within that job
Inside the job it will look like this:
Job 2.2 does not appear on the “Active services” screen because it has been signed off.
How do statuses work on services?
In Assist the status of each service can be updated both by the driver in the field and directly in the job form. This gives you flexibility and makes sure the status always reflects the actual progress of the service.
Here is a quick overview of the statuses:
Status | Description |
En route | The driver has set off for the job site and is on the way. |
Arrived | The driver has arrived at the job site and is ready to start work. |
Loaded | (Optional) Indicates that the object (e.g. a vehicle) has been loaded onto the tow truck. This is relevant for jobs that involve transport. |
Completed | The work on site is finished. This may include assistance, recovery or transport to a specific location. |
Signed off | The driver confirms that the service has been fully carried out, including any follow-up work such as adding order lines or other relevant information. This stage marks that the driver considers their work on the service finished. |
