What do I need to do before I can start using Assist?

Onboarding checklist: what to set up in Assist before your station starts using the system.

Written by Leif T. Rudlang

Assist is built for the towing station's own missions, with the driver in focus. Remember that you can do everything from your mobile phone while on the go.

To get the most out of your phone: add Assist as a shortcut on your phone by following these simple steps first. You will then receive notifications and see your location on the map.

Invitation and login

We have now set up your station in Assist and sent you an invitation to log in, in a separate email from "Assist-application". If you can't find it, please check your spam folder. 🙂

When you receive the invitation, you will be asked to create a password (the password rules are shown as you start typing). You will then see your station in Assist. You are set up as station administrator with all roles, so just click around and set up Assist as described below.

Basic data to set up first

To get started you need some basic data. We have added some default values that can be changed or deleted, and there are examples in the app that you can use.

  1. Service vehicles – add your vehicles with the information needed to calculate tolls/ferries and driving routes. Open in Assist

  2. Products and services – we have added a few examples. Remember to change them to your own products and your own prices! Open in Assist

  3. Damage causes – add any other damage causes you use. Open in Assist

  4. Agreements – add agreements if you have contract customers with their own prices. Open in Assist

  5. Start locations – add more start locations if your station has several locations where missions start, so that kilometres are calculated correctly. Open in Assist

  6. Warehouse locations – add warehouse locations if you charge for storage. Open in Assist

  7. Mission details (tags) – add tags to make special information on a mission easier to spot. There are examples here too. Open in Assist

  8. Users – invite users and give them the role they should have. Open in Assist

  9. Driver profile – drivers can add a photo and should add their phone number under Account settings (bottom left: click the three dots → Account settings).

  10. Customer import – if you want to import all your customers, it is very important that you follow the guide to the letter. The customer number must be the same in Assist as in your accounting system for the integration to work flawlessly. New customers should get their own number series.

  11. Shared email address – add an email address that is shared by the station. This is where requests from booking forms are received. Open in Assist

  12. Station settings – check that everything is set up the way you want it. Open in Assist

  13. Finance and settings – check the finance settings with your accountant. Open in Assist

  14. Product groups – while you're at it, ask your accountant for the correct accounts for the product groups. Open in Assist

Get started quickly with missions

To get started quickly with creating missions, use the Mission Interpreter. Read more here about how to create missions almost automatically when you receive information by email or as images.

We also recommend that your station joins the Assist network and sets up a few forms for smart direct booking – one for your own customers and one for your own website and social media. Requests then go straight into Assist.
